The Lily Palm Experience
“Fresh from an extensive renovation in 2024, this charming resort stands out for its authentic character and a truly sensational location. It sits on a breathtaking stretch of Watamu beach, where fine white sand meets a long, natural canopy of towering palm trees providing shade for the sunbeds. Directly facing the resort is the famous ‘Love Island’ (Kithangani in Swahili), so-called because it takes the shape of a heart during low tide. As the tides shift every six hours, the landscape transforms, offering a fairytale palette of turquoise and white.
The resort’s boutique size and lush tropical gardens create a perfectly relaxing atmosphere, ideal for those seeking a tranquil beach getaway. The recent refurbishment has introduced a delightful ‘shabby chic’ touch to the accommodations: the rooms are cozy and welcoming, featuring elegant décor in bright, candid tones and equipped with every modern comfort. This is complemented by excellent dining with a distinct Italian flair, guaranteed by the dedicated Italian management.
For those looking for a bit of excitement, the proximity to Watamu village offers various lively options. A must-visit is Papa Remo Beach—just a 1 km stroll along the shore—home to the most popular weekly beach party in the area. Only steps away and directly on the sand, you’ll also find Sunset Beach, the perfect spot for a sundowner with great music, where an aperitif is best enjoyed in your swimwear with your feet in the sand.”
